Comments This resort is a great find for divers. Although it is not a "dive" resort, the benefits far outweigh anything else. In fact, the facilities, divemaster and personnel make this an outstanding vacation spot for divers and nondivers as well. First of all, from LAX it is one flight away. (11 hours) You get picked up at the Nadi Airport and are driven( 30 minutes) to the dock where a shuttle boat( 4 minutes) transports you to the Sonaisali Resort. In other words, it's a private island just outside Nadi. At anytime you wish to shop in Nadi or sightsee you are a mere shuttle boat away. That's what's so nice. No long bus/boat ride or another Fijian flight from Nadi. In fact we never felt the need to leave this private island all week. (Actually we were there over New Years 09 as well.

The diving is great with many locations within reach. Visiting repeat dive sights was done only upon request. And since this is not a dive resort perse, the crowds were not present. It was up close and personal with divemaster and captain. We loved it. Oh, another good feature:We booked the trip through Costco Travel agency. This also ensured a reasonable not espensive trip and absolutely no hassles. I only hope that in letting this good news out, it doesn't spoil the place for our future trips. The accommodation/private bures were nicely appointed and even included a jacuzzi on the front veranda of each bungalow. Included meals were very tasty. And each evening Fijian entertainment was provided

UW Photo Comments The resort, boat captain and divemaster did their best. However, it was a small boat operation.
