Comments I have been on the Nai'a many times before, but this was my first time to the Lau Group, a set of outlying islands far to the east of central Fiji. We hit a few sites from their usual itinerary on the way out and back, but spent most of the cruise in what was for me new territory. Above water, many parts of Lau were shallow bays with tiny tall rainforest covered islets, like the rock islands of Palau. Underwater we saw a variety of topologies: outer reef walls, bommies, reef passages, shallow protected areas. They don't have as many known dive sites here, so some days we did topside activities in place of a fourth dive, and some we did exploratory dives. Most sites were good, a few were spectacular, and a couple had poor viz and challenging conditions.
