Comments Very long travel (as expected) from the states. Got in a day early as recommended and glad I did. Since I came over early I was fortunate to have my own row of seats on the Fiji Air flight, probably not likely on a weekend flight. No COVID issues or testing, that was all done away with in the last year or so. Slept long and hard that first night, woke refreshed to get on the boat.
Transfer to the boat was all pre-arranged. Took about an hour while picking up the other guests, there were 15 of us on the charter out of a possible 16. Most guests were from the states but 1 european and 1 asian guest as well. We all got along well all week and became friends.
The first day was mostly briefings and setup / unpacking. Once you set your dive gear up on the first day you don't have to touch it again all week, other than your mask and fins.
