Comments I went in the rainy season in mid-December. Weather was quite variable--clouds, rain, wind, some sun. Many dives had lower light levels because of this. Diving was quite good, all things considered. Really nice variety of smaller fish, table corals and the soft corals on the wall were spectacular. Few large fish, however. It was not Manta season.

I wouldn't go during the rainy season again. I rolled the dice and it worked out for about half of the dives. They only dive twice a day. It is an eco-resort type place with very basic accommodations. Very low key ambiance. This is not a resort. I stayed in a large wooden bungalow with a big deck. Electricity is solar and by generator. The area was a reclaimed forest and was a bit swampy because of the rain. It is bone dry in the dry season.

Staff is super friendly and the service is outstanding. Meals were served family style and were delicious. They really want to make sure you enjoy your stay. Owners/dive masters are Marina and Jone, both of whom know the area extremely well. We were a 10-minute boat ride from the White Wall, much closer access than any other operators.

You won't get a lot of diving with this type of land-based operation, but it is a good combination if you want to visit Taveuni (during the dry season). I would go back, just not in December.

Closest Airport Taveuni Getting There LA to Nadi airport on Viti Levu. Fiji Airways is nothing special. Pretty sparse entertainment system and the food was so-so. Staff is friendly. From LA, it is about 12 hours. From there, you take a puddle jumper flight (18 seater, have to crouch) to Taveuni. Takes about an hour.
