Comments We had six days of diving with Coral Coast divers in Pacific Harbour, Fiji. Four days of diving on the beautiful reefs and two days of shark diving. I have been diving for over 36 years, and I travel extensively to many parts of the world in order to dive in different locations. I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with the operation at Coral Coast Divers. Safety was their number one concern. This was particularly important when they took divers with various skill levels on their shark dive. They gave us all a detailed safety briefing and they guided everyone at the dive site in a well-regimented manner. Once in place, the divers were able to enjoy the sharks, while multiple safety divers kept watch for the entire time. On the four shark dives that we had we saw tons of large Bull Sharks, Nurse Sharks, a Silvertip Shark and a few Blacktop Reef Sharks. There was also a Giant Grouper hanging around on all the dives, along with schools of snappers. It was very impressive and great for photography and videography. Another thing to note is that the owners and staff are very much into shark conservation. Beqa Lagoon has a great variety of shark and ray species and they realize the importance of protecting these keystone species. They educate their guest on the importance of sharks to the overall health of the seas and the planet. The reef dives in Beqa Lagoon were also very impressive. Loads of schooling Anthias on both soft and hard corals are a sight to behold. There are some nice swim-throughs and wrecks, as well as some cool invertebrate life living on the reef. It is a healthy ecosystem. The staff at Coral coast Divers were excellent as well. I can’t say enough about them. They were very attentive to us divers and they greeted us with a smile and a loud “Bula” each morning. They were fun to dive with and they respected the skill levels of all the divers, helping those that needed a bit more help. They found some cool subjects for those of us who were photographers. A couple of other things that I would like to note that demonstrated their commitment to their customers: One day we had a small group of divers going on the shark dive and one of the boat engines was experiencing some problems. They could have easily cancelled the dive day and sent us on our way, while they attended to the boat. However, the owner quickly arranged for another boat to come for us and his staff, thus allowing us the opportunity to go diving, while they attended to the boat engine. Another day we had a large group of divers going out for two reef dives. Instead of putting all the divers on the one large boat, the owner broke the group up by experience level and put the divers on two different boats. That made for better diving for all concerned. We will definitely return to Pacific Harbour some day. The exciting shark dives and beautiful reefs are definitely worth a return visit. We will be sure to book again with Coral Coast Divers. I can definitely recommend them to divers of all skill levels.
