Comments Started by being over 1.5 hours late picking us up from the hotel.
During that time I was called to place lunch orders for everyone not understanding why. Little did we know that the 3 gourmet meals a day were selected from a list of choices only - not a full menu. Water and sodas were extra.
Upon arrival we were greeted by a very nice lady who took us to the dining room to show us our table for the week. No way to mingle and meet others. OR rather not conducive. We were given the rundown of the resort: meal times, spa times, etc. At no time did someone from the dive operator come speak to us. I went over to get the lowdown for the week - meaning dive times, dates, where to put gear, etc. I was partially clued in. When I came back to the group a bit later, one of my guests had also gone over the get the lowdown and was given different information. This happened one more time. WE had most of the story.
1st day of diving: We were informed what time we needed to analyze our tanks. No mention that it was a small window - almost didn't make it. We arrived at our first site - Sea Fan (funny, didn't see any). The boat moored. We were told we were gong to spend the first half of the dive swimming against the current. Many of us wondered why they didn't drop us off above then. Little did we know we were going to spend 20 plus minutes clawing our way to turn a corner. A few nice things. swift trip back to the boat where when i was asked how much I had remaining which was 1400psi I was told to go up. Most of my group said that if dive 2 was like dive 1 there was no reason to dive. Thankfully it was not. Viz was miserable and not a lot to see except some ribbon eel.
Our group was warned on the way out from some other great folks that since we had been on the Aggressor the week before not to be too thrilled at the shape the reefs were in. Pretty accurate statement. Over dove.
Day 2 of diving and the shark dive: Only the night before did we find out that half of what we all wear was unacceptable for the dive.1 - no bare body parts, no bright colors, no white fins. Would've been nice to know this up front. Seriously miserable weather which made exits and entries quite the challenge in a strong surface current. 2 nice dives.
Absolutely nothing to do - because of rain, we couldn't hang out by the pool. Every time we brought laptops or games out to the dining room we were moved around prepping for the next meal. We didn't have a place we could hang out.
The GM is an odd duck and tended to sit at your table whether welcome or not. A few forward comments left my guests a little uneasy
