Comments I Travelled to Fiji with a non diving spouse so I tried to find the best day trip available on the main island of Viti Levu. Macro photography and soft corals are my main interests, so that narrowed it down to Aqua-Trek’s 2 tank “soft coral” dive. The first site was Caesars and while there was an abundance of reef fish, the soft coral was almost nonexistent. Later, a dive guide told me much had been lost following 2016’s tropical cyclone Winston. There was a lot of bleaching on the hard coral as well. The second site, “ET” was a little better. Aqua-Trek packed 16 divers onto their boat and with 4 DM’s it was crowded. I experienced a regulator malfunction on entry and could hardly hold onto a line from the boat while it was quickly sorted out. Another site should have been selected with such a strong current. The Captain was oblivious as were the DM’s. The last group refused to get in after seeing me struggle. Overall, a big disappointment.
