Comments This is typical resort diving where there is a schedule and there are 2 boat dives in the morning, then the boat comes back in before going out for another dive in the afternoon. Shore diving is also available I believe but I didn't try that. The boat is well equipped with shaded area and water and a fruit snack provided. Crew were all super helpful and dive guides great at pointing out different marine creatures. There is evidence of coral bleaching here but still lots of pretty Caribbean reef fish to look at and turtles and rays. It really is a sunny holiday resort with some nice diving, very relaxed. There are a couple of purpose sunk wrecks too. Catalina Island was worth the visit, nice and clear and lots of life. That and Tortuga (for the turtles) were my favourite dives. The resort was a typical 3 star all inclusive. It is huge and has a team of maintenance people always working to fix anything that breaks (inevitable with so many people passing through). The A La Carte restaurants were good and always plenty of choice at the buffets. I ate all the salads, had ice in drinks etc. and did not have any tummy upsets as some reviews had posted. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and the reason I chose the area and resort. Be aware that not all standard rooms have a balcony / terrace so check before booking if like me you like somewhere to wash and hang out swim suits after diving! You can rinse and hang your dive kit at the dive centre overnight etc. There was a huge storm passing through while I was there and the hotel staff were amazing in keeping everything running and cleaned up.
