Comments	Punta Cana is not a diving destination by any means. That said, if you are here and you dive you may as well go. Next to the Westin Punta Cana resort is the Blue Vision dive shop which is a short walk down the beach. Rental equipment is good. The dive sites are a 5 minute ride from shore. The wooden boats are small and cramped when full. The sites are similar. Aquarium is their nearest and most frequently visited dive site. As a protected site, it’s teaming with typical reef fish. Corals are struggling. There is a local coral restoration project within this site as well. Maximum depth is 10m/33ft with surge depending on the swell above. The Colosseum site is circular in shape consisting of a sandy ocean floor surrounded by a coral wall which varies in height and depth with a max depth of 13m/43ft. Interesting corals and the typical reef fish populate the walls. I saw a couple of turtles, not much else. There are several swim-through are there to explore. Max depth 13m/42ft. Visibility is variable 10ft. – 40ft based on the swell and time of the year. Algae blooms can be a problem mid-summer. The vib at the shop is good, the people are wonderful, and the diving is better than not diving.
