Comments I have been diving in Dominica several times before, but this was the first time I traveled to and stayed in the south part of the island. The little fishing village of Soufriere is absolutely wonderful. It is about a 40 minute drive from the capital of Roseau for any extensive shopping needs, but there is a little grocery in the village that keeps the essentials in stock. The people in Soufriere are among the friendliest I have ever met.

Nature Island Dive is a great operation. They generally have very small groups and cater to the client's needs and wants. (I was there for a month and only dived the same site twice if I requested it.)

The diving sites are all just a short boat trip away. Sometimes, the boat would head back to shore for the surface interval. The dives consist of walls and pinnacles for the most part and the reefs are in excellent shape. I saw virtually no bleaching and so much biodiversity! Several times, we encountered sea turtles and on one dive we actually heard humpback whales singing to each other the entire time we were underwater.

I will be returning to Dominica as soon as I can and will definitely be booking my dives with Nature Island Dive.
