Comments The bad is American Airlines. Suffice it to say that if we could avoid flying with them we would. Thanks to them we lost a day of diving and a day and a half at the hotel. The good was the dive operator, Ocean Encounters. The Hilton was very nice and all the people there were pleasant and accomodating. The food was good but we had an all inclusive plan so were confined to the hotel restaurants. Service was on the slow side but the people were very pleasant. Ocean Encounters is one of the most accomodating dive operations we have used. I have physical limitations and they couldn't have been better at helping and assuring that I had an enjoyable experience. They also scheduled extra diving so we could make up part of what we missed.
The reefs at Curacao are in better shape than Bonaire and we saw a frogfish, octopus, numerous squid, a slipper lobster, and a sea horse plus lots and lots of tropical fish. We only saw one turtle the whole week. The Mushroom Forest was beautiful as far as coral formations but not sea life. Each day we did two dives in the A.M. and one in the P.M., all nitrox. Tanks were consistently filled to 3,000 lbs or better and 32% oxygen.
