Lion Dive resort & ocean encounters dive operators

Overall dive operation is very good and I didn’t see or hear of any negative interactions.
Everyone was friendly helpful and interested in guests having a good experience.

Well stocked dive shop. Small but deep lockers to store fins, regs, booties. Hangers for BCD’s all enclosed in an area that is locked overnight. lots of areas on land for you to kit up. Easy access to shore dive entry point leading to the house reef.
Unlimited shore diving tanks are provided by dive shop.

Nice size beach area, easy access to the water and lots of chaises, tables and chairs. Delivery service for food and drink is also available.

We dive from MS Galaxy. Clean, well maintained boat w / marine head, o2 rescue kit, life preservers
outside showers. Fresh water and cups provided. Nitrox available for additional price.

Capt. Pol drives, Megan & Will were the dive masters. Crew were friendly and respectful to group and very helpful overall. Easy to communicate with dive briefings were clear and concise.

Our 16 divers split into two groups, Megan leads one group, Will the other. Dive own profile limited to experience and cap of 60 minutes.
Very good visibility 100’ +.

Lots of stag horn coral, coral nursery. Some beautiful Elk-horn coral.
Saw two scorpion fish, sharp tail eels, moray eels, damsel fish.
Two giant turtles.
Thursday night dive shop has a barbecue dinner for dive groups $40 per. Alcohol, ribs, chicken skewers , veg skewers, ribs, hamburger sliders. Salad, Beer and soda. Very nice and tasty.
A Classy move and well received.

Resort has four restaurants breakfast buffet daily
Hemmingways beach bar restaurant - poke bowls,
Nemo -sushi bar
Piazza -Italian restaurant
Chill- burgers ribs skewers
Vegetarian options are limited
Prices were decent and didn’t feel gouged. Most of the food was good and portions were generous.
Service was island time good and food came out pretty quickly. Live music at Hemmingways’ on Sunday night VERY LOUD music at Chill on Friday night.

My room which I shared had two double beds on the small side and was sorely in need of bathroom window which could open for cooling. Adequate room for the week. Going there this week I was introduced to a new month known as Sweatember. Humidity was in the 80% area all week.
Would go back again.
