Comments Travel… easy via American Airlines there and back
Havana..arranged lodging for a few days via booking.com, also places easily available via Airbnb. The travel agency, Cuba Diving will help as well. Worth visiting.
Visas and other paperwork are also handled by Cuba Diving/AVALON DIVING
The boat..there are several avalons in their fleet. The IV is the highest, newest and we were in it, very well maintained, excellent food, super helpful staff.
The dive op.. the dive deck is big, roomy and once you are set up, the crew puts your stuff on a tender, holds 12 and a tight fit, and all you need to do is get on the tender with your mask and water bottle. Very easy to then back roll into the water, usually a 15 min or so run to the dive site.
The diving was easy, and reminiscent of the Caribbean 20 years ago, loads of fish, healthy reef.
The bad: clearly there had been chumming as the sharks, which are ever present, circled the boat often.
I can’t convince my family that though the pricing is a liveaborad Indonesian rates the flights are much shorts and effectively no time zones from the USA.

We are planning to return next year, in the winter when the vis would be better.
