Comments For a US citizen you will need to purchase a tourist card and apply for a "Humanitarian e-visa". Avalon outdoors or whoever you go with will help with that but be aware things can change quickly on entry requirements. Especially if you have a US passport.

Easy diving - most dive profiles were 75 feet ( 22 meters) max depth to the sand along a wall then 25 feet (7 meters) along a shallow reef back to the boat. Lots of silky and Caribbean reef sharks and the Goliath Grouper which we saw on several dives was really special. Not afraid in the least they will swim right up to you.

Unfortunately the coral are showing signs of Climate Change and the warming waters. I was looking forward to possibly seeing some healthy Pilar and Elkhorn coral but that did not happen.

I was also hoping to see and get some video of the crocodile at one of the surface interval stops in the mangroves but after two attempts we were unsuccessful. A Hurricane blew through the area a week before (yes in November) so perhaps that was why it didn't show for its free meal of raw chicken.

Visibility varied probably due to some overnight rains but for the most part was pretty decent during the week except for some spots (see attached video).

UW Photo Comments The Jardines Avalon 4 has a big camera table with compressed air and electrical outlets. Bring your own charging power strips. We dove off smaller boats that did not have any special area for cameras or rinse buckets/tanks. Once back at the main liveaboard a rinse tank is available.
