Comments	I descended to 50 feet and was in the water for approximately 8 minutes when my regulator & my spare failed. I swam to my dive buddy & used his spare. The dive master swam to us, checked my regulator and confirmed that it was not functioning. We ascended to the surface & I returned to the boat. I returned to the SAND DOLLAR DIVE SHOP and requested that they repair my regulator & tell me if the first stage was malfunctioning. I telephoned them and was told that something was seriously wrong with my regulator. I asked if they were able to get parts for the first stage of the Apex Regulator and they ignored the question and told me it would be ready for the next dive. When I arrived at the dive shop they told me that nothing was wrong with the regulator. I was given a spare regulator for the dive at Devil's Throat. I subsequently told a SAND DOLLAR dive master about my experience and the conflicting evaluations of my regulator. He told me that he did NOT TRUST THE TECHNICIAN and recommended that I use the spare regulator as a safety measure. The dive was spectacular but I would never dive with SAND DOLLAR again.
