Comments JP and Carlos met in college in Monterrey Mexico, and opened scuba life cozumel 2 years ago. They are young, energetic, and super friendly, but also run an extremely professional operation. Pick-ups at the dock of our hotel were always on time, and we gave over our gear the first morning and didn't deal with it again until the long weekend was over. Tanks were swapped in seconds, fresh seasonal fruit and cookies were offered between dives, and the Kailani has a great sound system, 2 fast engines, and plenty of room for the small groups (one day we were only four divers, and they were happy to head to Punta Sur). We were most charmed by JP's enthusiasm for his new business and genuine interest in people, diving, and making sure everyone had a great time. This trip we dove with everyone from the newly certified to Cozumel veterans, and it was always a fun boat. They will take into account your dive site preferences, and gregarious Capitan Marcelo negotiated the boat traffic with ease. Our pick up time was 9 am, which may be later than you prefer, but with the recent addition of another fast boat, I anticipate pick up flexibility. Cost was 90$ for 2 tanks of Nitrox, which is a deal for this level of service in Cozumel. My husband and I have been coming to Cozumel for years-although the fishiness has declined, we still find it the best diving in the Caribbean outside Belize. Our usual boat was out of water for repairs this month, and we couldn't have been happier with scuba life cozumel !
