Comments We dove two days out of three for a couple of weeks extending into early February. Jeremy's operation continues to impress us as a great group to dive with and we recommend him to any acquaintances looking to dive Cozumel. PePe is excellent dive guide, the crew is experienced and friendly, and the boat is a breeze to dive from. On a couple of days, we were the only divers, but 4-6 total divers was the norm.

Divers are given steel tanks of various sizes so as to roughly equalize dive time. Expect hour plus dives, as the pace is deliberately slow and easy. (Our last dive was a shallow critter spotting expedition of 93 minutes, for which we were the only divers.)

Most of the divers are repeat customers, many of them long-standing. They certified several divers during our stay though, and PePe and the crew have always been good when working with new divers, as well as giving gentle advice to some of those with more experience.

As for the diving, it is Cozumel. Saw a few nurse sharks, a good number of eagle rays, and some turtles--but fewer of the latter than last year. No great schools of fish, but many juvenile drum this year--some extremely small. Saw more toadfish during the day than we recall from the past, and many eels.

One of us wore a 3ml and hood, the other gym shorts--which is our typical dive gear.

Generally speaking, the diving in Cozumel and the Caribbean cannot blow us away like that in the Coral Triangle. BUT, for an easy, relatively affordable getaway that is essentially in the backyard of much of the US, Cozumel is tough to beat--and if diving there, Living Underwater is the way to go.

UW Photo Comments Spouse was the only one with a camera this trip, so she was provided with a bucket or cooler that was large enough for her set up. Jeremy indicated that he had larger tubs available if she wanted more space.
