Comments We went as part of a dive shop group of over 15 people. We were split up between two dive boats, we were on the smaller of the two with 9 divers. Pick up times at our resort were always on time. The Dive master and boat captain were both very helpful and attended to our needs. Most dives were drift style and were not suitable for less experienced divers. The boat captain followed the diver’s bubbles and the dive master would deploy a SMB when we were ready to be picked up. That would happen several times every dive due to air consumption differences between divers. We are Nitrox certified divers like most of our group, but we all declined it due to the high cost of each tank, very disappointing. We saw turtles on most dives several large Green and Loggerheads came by. Sharks were numerous and smaller fish life abundant. We did several dives with numerous swim thru’s that required good lights so make sure to bring them with you. The resort was clean and food was pretty good, we also had free drinks as an added bonus.

Now for the bad.
We had purchased new dive gear this year replacing ours after 18 years of use. At the end of the week we both were experiencing issues with our integrated seconds leaking during our dives. When we got home and had our new gear checked out. We found out that we had contaminated air and our regulators had to be rebuilt looking at the condition we were lucky to have not fell ill. We had one member of our group that had gotten sick on the trip not sure if his illness was related to the bad air in our tanks. We checked with others in our dive group and several had to get there gear serviced as well.

Very scary re: bad air. What were the contaminates? How did Dive With Martin respond when you raised the issue with them? Seems like they should be willing to give you some compensation if it was their air that damaged your gear. Makes me all the more very curious what the contaminate was -- if it is able to generate leaks in your hoses, I can only imagine what it was doing to your lungs...!
