Comments We were diving as part of a fairly large group and had 2 boats. One boat had a fair amount of room to move around and the other was packed in like sardines. We were on the packed boat and it was hard to get any shade. Both boats were very slow and extended rides with little bench to sit on seemed longer. The head was a toilet without a seat and was to be flushed with a bucket. Bags and shoes were jumbled up on a small shelf in that room.
The dive staff took BCs and regs off and rinsed at end of day. All dives were drift dives and usually 2 staff with group of 8. Little attention during the dive and few things pointed out. It had been years since I had been to Cozumel but my memory had served me well. What we did see was often a large specimen, e.g. moray or turtle but we did not see a large variety of fish nor large numbers. Coral not dense nor in good condition.
The hotel staff was, for the most part not very friendly or accommodating. The main restaurant had plenty of food on the buffet but quality nothing special. Breakfast on several days was still being set out at time we were to start. When we had a sit down, to order, meal one night as a group, the service was very slow and many of us never received our soup or salad. When that was pointed out, the wait staff shrugged.
Our group chose this place to keep the cost a little lower but for a few hundred dollars, the experience was well below most of the other places we have gone in the Caribbean .

Interesting about the dive boats and shade/space. I appreciate all the poignant insight.
