Comments I continue to like Cozumel as an "end of summer" dive trip. As mentioned in past reports, it's inexpensive, easy to get to and very nice diving. Have gone the past seven years in a row
and about 15 times overall. Hotel Cozumel is a solid three stars (out of five) and with the all-inclusive package, a great bargain. Food has been pretty good the past few years but the meal portion of the hotel package is so inexpensive that you're not losing much if you go to eat outside of the hotel on occasion. The rooms were clean, well maintained and comfortable. Short walk to the dock area where we were picked up by Aldora Divers each morning about 7:45 AM. I've used Aldora Divers at least 10-12 times over the years so I'm very comfortable with them. Memo and his staff are always great.
Typically, you're on a small, fast boat with a maximum of six divers. You can opt for steel 120 tanks (and Nitrox) if you wish. Average dive times were 1:15 - 1:20 minutes. In my humble opinion, the fish and the reefs are petty much the same in the greater Caribbean so why not go to a venue that easy to get to, inexpensive and always great (Caribbean) diving. Will go back about the same time of year in 2017.
