Comments Cobalt coast is wonderful resort on the Northern End of G.C. We found the accommodations to be quite nice, spacious and relaxing. Ari and his staff were most congenial. They did their best to make us feel welcome. The food was excellent as well as the service.
The resort is far away from the activities of 7 mile beach and Georgetown with the pros and cons which come with this.

Our evaluation of Divetech was a bit more of a mixed bag. My wife and I are experienced divers with over 100 dives. This was my son's first trip in the ocean since certification. Because of this we signed him up for a refresher course on the first day. He seemed to do very well with this and we were off to 3 days of boat dives thereafter. My son had some significant anxiety issues and possibly bouyancy issues the first day. I requested a private divemaster for the next day (which I would have paid for). They said one was not available and offered no alternative suggestions. My son did progessively better each day and ended up having a great time, but Divetech is clearly much more in tune with advanced divers. We could not get the help we requested, and were willing to pay for. Our choices seemed to be tough it out or dive elsewhere. The divemasters the first 2 days seemed somewhat disdainful of inexperienced divers. I found this to be much less the case the last day. I admit that my impressions would likely be much more positive if our party had been all advanced divers. Divetech was generous with bottom time. They also seemed very interested in deco and closed circuit diving and extremely capable in these areas.

I would highly recommend Divetech to the advanced and technical diver.

I would not recommend Divetech for the less experienced diver.

N.B. The shore dives are excellent. The reef at Cobalt Coast has a long surface swim, but can be dived at many levels. Lighthouse Point is a great alternative but with a hairy exit/entry.
