Comments We have been coming to the CI for over 30 years and to Morritt's Resort diving with Tortuga Divers for 15 years. We love the ease of getting there and the quality accommodations that I have been able to exchange into thru Interval Int. We love the consistency of the high-quality staff who have been with Tortuga Divers for many years. It says a lot about the company that we keep seeing the same Instructors/ Dive Master staff when we return each time. And they have told me they like working there, which means mostly happy smiling staff.
The CI have done an excellent job protecting the coral and you see very little damage from Stony Coral disease and bleaching.
Sure, there are some impacts from sand deposited after the hurricane in 2021 and previous years, but not too bad. And most of the land side impacts have been rebuilt better. Especially widening and repaving the main roads, that now have gravel shoulders to pull off onto to let faster drivers pass safely!
I took the best shark video footage ever for me on Pat's Wall just south of the SE cut in the barrier reef near East End. Three sharks just keep circling the site and I was able to get good closeup and head-on footage too. And the schooling fish in Chubb and Snapper holes as well as the top of the deep walls was excellent. Vis was great except when some big rollers came in from Hurricane Helene, which created white-out conditions on one shallow dive. But only lasted a day and a half and then it flattened back out.
The diving is consistently good and enjoyable, and the East side of the island is still quiet and local. Which is why we keep coming back and I highly recommend it.

UW Photo Comments There really is no dedicated camera table on the boat, but there is a dedicated camera rinse barrel on the stern where we all keep our video and still photography cameras before and after dives. There are no separate camera facilities at the dive shop or in the resort. I do my editing at night on my laptop in our room.
