Comments We (4 in our group) spent a little over 3 weeks at Sunset House. We dove from the shore only with Tekna scooters. With the scooters we could go a mile in either direction and return. Our dives ran 80 minutes for deeper dives and 102 minutes for shallow dives all using single 80cf tanks.
The reef fish life is very good, even better than last year. Every thing is recovering, fish, soft corals, but the hard corals are the slowest and the water is very warm. Big snappers and small groupers were every where. Turtles were seen on every dive and one of several nurse sharks on most dives even night dives. Octopi were out on every night dive as well as large stone crabs and big lobsters. We saw only one large Green moray and that was a day dive. The silver sides were very thick at the Devils Grotto as were the Tarpon. In fact the tarpon would mob us on night dives. Tarpon were also at Arm Chair Reef and Waldo's old hangout.
