Comments Southern Cross has a great staff. The island is very safe and they do not need locks on the doors and items like bicycle and paddle boards are not secured. The dining environment is very pleasant with a choice of sitting in a screened area, or inside where it’s air conditioned or outside on the patio you choose where to eat. Breakfast is the best meal in my opinion where a selection is available of fresh fruit, different types of bread or English muffing or bagels, bacon, sausage, eggs prepared to order (egg white omelette for me) and other choices. Coffee always available. The breakfast service opens at 7:00AM and the dive boat (a close one minute walk from breakfast) leaves at 8:00. Dive operations is owned by Mike, who is an amazing ower and dive master with fabulous knowledge of the reef. He seems to know where all the critters are located and enjoys diving, including entertaining briefings. Mike is very safety conscious and schedules safety drills with his staff. This is a major plus.
I’m 85 years old and they provide the right kind of help that allows an old guy like me to really enjoy the dives and still be able to act normal when walking to dinner in the evening!!
We dove Little Cayman with Southern Cross in June . So excited about the entire experience that we wanted friends to join us on this trip. Because the coral was magnificent
We were shocked when we returned this trip to see the vast amount of coral bleaching. They had record heat between our June dive trip and our return late October. Much of the wall is in good condition and the size of the barrel sponges big enough to almost hold a person. Just a description of the size and not an allowable part of a dive.
We love Little Cayman and Southern Cross and will be returning many times Lord willing.
