Comments [None]our dive shop, Wateree Dive Center from Columbia, SC returned for our 11th visit since 1995 and we enjoyed our visit. We flew AA from Charlotte to GCM, then Cayman Air to LC. LCBR has a high standard and we have always stayed there. The rooms are fine, clean and perfect for divers. The food was very good, maybe not quite as good as the last visit. The staff is very professional, efficient, and very pleasant. The bar staff is also very good with a good variety of selections.
The dive operation is excellent. Sharon and Fabio were with us for the week and they were superb. Unfortunately, the water temperature was 88 degrees, and very uncomfortable on south side dives, especially with surge. Bloody Bay Wall and Jackson Wall were very good, but we saw only about 5 sharks all week, 1 spotted Eagle ray, and a good number of turtles. We saw only 4 lionfish all week. We saw 2 green morays and no spotted morays.
The corals did not seem as vibrant and some sites eg. Bus Stop, had more dead coral. Others were very good.
We only had current of significance on only 1 dive. Visibility was 80-100 feet generally. The seas were flat, and little rain all week.
All in all, this was a good trip, but the water temperature was really a strength sapping problem.
We will return, but hopefully when the water temperature is less.
