Comments I lead our dive shops’ trip of 19 divers here from Jan 22-29, 2023.
Resort
Great food & fantastic staff from front desk through to bar & restaurant. Can request vegetarian food at every meal that was varied and delicious. Staff very helpful, considerate, and great at problem solving. Rooms are comfortable, with everything you need. Could use a few more accessible outlets so charging computers, lights, & cameras is easier. Beautiful view from every room. Some ground floor rooms complained of noisy upstairs neighbours late at night (I was in a 2nd floor room and had no issues). Biggest issue I had is that all of the drinks given at the bar and in dining room are in single-use plastic cups. Reusable plastic would be a better option, without risk of glass breaking on the pool deck. Unsure why in the dining room they didn’t have glasses for juice etc.
Diving
The reefs are in fairly good shape for the Caribbean. Lots of healthy corals and impressive fish populations. Good level of diversity and didn’t see too many lionfish. Starting to see algae and some CWD, so hopefully they have a plan to keep that well in hand. Surface was quite rolly most days we were there. Some surface current & had to request a drift line which staff were weirdly resistant to doing. Barbie and Jucky were a great team- very thorough briefings and good site maps. It would be better if they had a crew of 3-4 on the boats. There is only one dive guide in the water at a time, and one stays on board. You can dive independently with your buddy but if you want to follow the guide, it becomes quite a cluster. Luckily our boat was an experienced group but it could see it getting out of hand with newer divers. I would be concerned in case of emergency how a staff of 2 would handle it.

Dive Shop
Rental gear looked to be in a decent shape, although all my divers had their own gear. Shop was well-equipped to help fix equipment issues. Had some useful pieces to buy if you had gear break or lose clips. The rinse bin area is great with lots of space to dry gear in the sun. The storage room is very disorganized, and many times divers grabbed the wrong gear. Would be better if there was a labelled system or lockers/cubbies to keep it more organized. Make sure your gear is labelled!

Boats
Very crowded for 20 divers. Each diver did have their own area for scuba gear, but the camera table was full. There is no dry area on board so bring a good dry bag. There is an area to store personal affects that again is very crowded. Towels are provided on board which is great, and there is a water station with paper cups. There are cookies, rice Krispie treats etc for in between dives with oranges one day. We started bringing fruit from breakfast on board for those that preferred it. Nice Upper area to enjoy view and sun & have quiet time. Freshwater hose to rinse off after dive was nice. No rinse buckets on board. Defog provided but unsure if it was reef friendly.

Meant to add: great relaxation area by beach and pool. Did an island tour with Terry that was very cool & informative.
