Comments This was our dive shop's (Wateree Dive Center in Columbia, SC) semiannual trip to Little Cayman. We had 16 divers and flew from Charlotte to Grand Cayman by USAirways and then the Cayman Air shuttle to Little Cayman. This was our 7th or so trip to LCBR and it continues to be outstanding in all areas. The rooms are fine, the food, served by buffet, is outstanding and the atmosphere is fine.

The dive operation, Reef Divers, continues to be excellent. Our two divemasters for the week, Warren and Ed, were superb. Both continue to have a zeal for their work and took time to show both large and small critters. We saw only about 3 lionfish the entire week, so it seems they are hopefully being controlled somewhat better. The marine park has been quite helpful in allowing the grouper population to again become quite omnipresent on every dive. The varied fishlife was excellent and the coral really looked better than ever. There seemed to be less noticeable bleaching of coral and overall we were quite pleased. Turtles seemed to be in abundance. We also saw a grouper attack an octopus, which is a once in a lifetime event to be seen. Awesome!!!

Despite some very large swells early in the week which made it somewhat hairy in traversing the cut, the visibility was fantastic. The viz averaged about 125+ the last 4 days of diving. There was little current and our dives were relaxed and really wonderful.

We sent one of our bags back the day before departure to ensure no problems with luggage back in Grand Cayman and all divers had their bags without any problems.

Little Cayman Beach Resort continues to be one of our favorites. The staff was superb, including the restaurant staff and front office also. We missed Mr. Tibbets, who died last year, but his legacy of a great dive resort and encouraging environmental safeguards lives on.

We will return again.
