Comments Just Dive is a small, owner-operated dive operation out of Atlantis Dive Center, which is conveniently located 10-min walk from the cruise ship berth. They did a great job accommodating our cruise ship schedule, with 2-tank morning dives starting at 8:30AM and ending around 1PM. Max 6 person trips.
Mike (owner, operator, divemaster, office manager, and everything else) answers bookings promptly and provide a lot of information beforehand. Prep and dive briefing are comprehensive. He is friendly, chatty, and very helpful with gear, instructions and just about everything else.
Diving: We picked a lousy time to dive Grand Cayman. high seas, high wind, choppy surface and poor visibility. We stuck to the West End, where the CA IV anchored. they couldn't get out of Grand Cayman, either, we were told. weather that bad.
Mike helped us made the most out of the bad weather. Standard Grand Cayman East End diving, with healthier Non-bleaching hard coral than Roatan. nice large soft corals with the usual Cayman small fish. Didn't see any ray or turtle. It's not the best Cayman diving, but Mike was great and helped us made the best of the weather situation. He told us about Cayman's effort to reduce coral bleaching, which was to put some kind of antibiotic on the coral and it seems to work. Nice to know that there is at least some small solution to the problem.
Overall i would highly recommend Just Dive Cayman, especially for cruise ship visitors as the location is very convenient. Mike is a great divemaster, helpful in looking for and showing stuff that we would otherwise miss.
