Comments We selected Indigo Divers for our first trip to Grand Cayman, due to the outstanding reviews in Undercurrent for their small-group dive operation.

We were very happy with their service - all the paperwork completed via email (so no time wasted on vacation), short boat rides, and a focus on finding the critters each of us wanted to see, with Paul Humann fish id books right on board for review after the dives. The boat was very comfy for 6 divers, with a large covered area, really easy entry/exit procedures and dry towels on board.

They also provide some extra services that large group dive ops would not - when I had some issues with my 'new' mask leaking a bit, Kate loaned me 2 smaller size masks so I could try them while snorkeling.

Kate has a knack for finding small critters and is always happy to assist with identification when there was a 'mystery' fish. Chris and Kate are very friendly, relaxed people and diving with them was a real pleasure. And YES - the banana choc chip bread was amazing !!

We enjoyed our first trip to Grand Cayman - Silver Sands has a spectacular location on the north section of Seven Mile Beach. The entry to the condo community is not very appealing, looking at the back of the units. But once you walk to the beach side, it's beautiful, with the stunning water views, several palapas for shade, beach chairs, large pool, and even a bocce court. Several guests said they have been going there for years. Our condo had 2 floors, so we had a ground floor patio, with several rows of pegs where dive gear could be hung to dry. We enjoyed several snorkels starting from the beach in front of the condos.

We had breakfast and light lunches in our condo and had dinner out each night. Most restaurants are expensive with gourmet food offerings - but we also found several smaller, less fancy places to have a less expensive, more casual meal.

Just 1 snorkeling highlight - Smith's Cove south of George Town was wonderful. We spent about 20 minutes floating above a school of Reef Squid, who were as fascinated with us as we were with them !
