Comments After saying farewell to Fisheye after Ivan in 2004, we were pointed in the direction of Indigo Divers by the people at Divers Supply. What a stroke of good luck! Having experienced mostly moderate and large-sized dive boats in the past, the Cat's Meow (a 28 ft Sea Ray) was a revelation! I doubt we'll ever dive with anyone else again when in Grand Cayman. We've dived with Chris and Kate a total of six times (each one a 5-day package) and have never been disappointed. From the moment you board on the first day, they take care of virtually everything, including setting up your gear (and swapping out tanks for second dives), providing fruit and cookies between dives, dispensing useful information about each dive site, making you feel unbelievably comfortable on board and sharing info about the Grand Cayman, including restaurants, new condo developments and local politics. They have a six-diver limit, which keeps things very comfortable and roomy on the boat.
Underwater, both have an uncanny ability to find amazing stuff, both large and small. They are constantly mindful of the experience level of each diver and allow those who are more experienced and comfortable underwater the freedom to dive their own profiles and do their own exploring, as long as each has a buddy. On our most recent trip, we saw more large stuff (and small) than on any previous visit, including multiple sharks (hammerhead, gray reef, black tip, nurse), many eagle rays, turtles, lobster, tiny juvenile spotted drum, eels (green, purple-mouth, spotted), great anemones, etc. Kate is also a wonderful videographer; we have a 30 minute DVD she made from a previous visit. We highly recommend Indigo Divers without reservation.
