Comments Last time I took this trip was on the Cayman Aggressor V 2012. This is now 2024 and the Cayman boat is now the IV. A few other things have changed - there is no longer a stringray city stop as the stingrays no longer come in to the deeper area. Evidently, the stingrays were fed during covid in the shallow area but no one attended to them in the place divers previously went. After a few underwhelming dives on the north side of Grand Cayman (hardly even a fish to be seen), we were lucky enough to have a smooth crossing and spent the week at Little Cayman. The bloodly bay wall is definitely worth going back for! I was with a new buddy who was experiencing her first liveaboard and she had a great time - learning all the fish behaviors (we saw some spawning!) and checking out the friendly grouper named "Chester". The Tibbets wreck at Brac was a lovely dive with more sponge growth than when I was there last. The coral is looking bleached - with temps almost 90 degrees I'm not sure how long it will hold up. The giant barrel sponges are fantastic, and we did have a few eagle ray sightings.
The food was good and plentiful and the crew helpful and kind. Some of the guests started digging in the over the counter medical drawer on the second day. It turns out they had COVID (they either didn't test or didn't tell) and I came down with it by the end of the week. I got sick as we were flying home. Such is life....
Now for the part I wasn't too happy about....on the way back to Grand Cayman, the boat blew an engine. It took much longer to get back and we were told no diving the last day. We arrived in the marina around 9am. We were offered free nitrox for the week and an afternoon at the botanical gardens. I had a problem with this for 2 reasons: everyone on the trip was diving nitrox. Why do they charge extra for this? I don't get it. And, I have no interest in doing a land tour in 100 degree heat. My buddy and I booked a trip to Stingray City with the help of the boat crew. There were no cruise ships in (as it is low season in Sep) and we had a fun time holding and feeding the stingrays. Upon my return home, I complained about not doing 2 dives on the last day and wanted to claim it on my travel insurance. I was told by the Vice President of Aggressor that we were given an adequate alternate option & compensation. Which makes me wonder - can they offer you a week of land activities if there boat is out of commission? All in all we had a nice week but we weren't happy with the outcome & compensation.

UW Photo Comments Nice camera table central, location. Air to blow off housings. Charging below the table, which wasn't ideal as it is a wet area. We were told that the batteries were going to be unplugged at night but alas, it wasn't so. However, there was a night watch and we had no issues.
