Comments Fernando de Noronha is a volcanic archipelago made up of 21 islands and islets, covering an area of 26 km² (the main island, the only inhabited one, has 17 km²). It lies approximately 215 nautical miles off the northeastern coast of Brazil. The main attractions are its stunning beaches and, for divers, the rocky underwater terrain (with pinnacles, sunk rocks, and walls) and the rich marine life.
Considered the best dive destination in Brazil, I visited last year around the same time (July), and this year the diving was even better thanks to the abundance of marine life—even in the area known as the "Mar de Dentro" (Inner Sea), facing the continent, where most dives take place between March and ...
