Comments	[None]This was our 25th trip to Bonaire but will sadly probably be our last. Diving is still great but the horrendous traffic, countless cruise ships, and huge construction projects everywhere are ruining Bonaire. The roads are very rough and narrow and with all the dump trucks and construction vehicles you are taking your life in your hands trying to get to the dive sites. To top it off, some of the locals are getting very frustrated, which I certainly can understand, and take out their anger on visitors by driving back and forth in front of the resorts at 3am with extremely loud motorcycles and cars with open exhaust trying to wake everyone up. The resorts were all at capacity and most of them don't have adequate parking so the main road South of the airport is extremely tight with all the cars parked parallel to road (which has no shoulders) with barely room for two vehicles to pass without scraping each other. To top it off the Bonaire Highway Dept does not do anything to fix the millions of massive potholes everywhere which are unavoidable due to heavy traffic and being forced off the road so often. We certainly enjoyed seeing the tremendous amounts of juvenile fish, which was just staggering compared to our previous trips, but overall, once out of the water, having to deal with so many people jammed onto such poor roads, just ruined the trip. My advice, go now, cause in a few years (months) Bonaire will be completely ruined by a government that does not care about protecting the fragile marine ecosystem but only about bringing in more dollars and sucking up to the huge resort consortiums. So long Bonaire, we are so glad we knew you when you were still beautiful.
