Comments We recently had a group of 12 divers staying at Divi Flamingo. The rooms are good-sized, although a bit worn, but perfectly functional. The AC worked great and was quiet; the LCD TV had lots of channels. There was a refrigerator and coffee maker. The bathroom had a combination tub/shower and lots of counter space, always a positive for me. We had an oceanview room and it was nice and quiet at night. The in-room Wifi was pretty fast, although the entire resort lost their internet for a day. There are two pools on the property. The buffet breakfast was part of our dive package and there were lots of choices ranging from ceral to eggs to pancakes. Themed dinner buffets, such as pasta and taco, were offered, as well as regular menu items. The food there was tasty and my husband and I split many meals. The resort was handy to town where shopping and dining were readily available. There is a small casino on the property.

Shore diving in front of the resort was decent, with shallow and deeper water available. Night dives from the dock were easy and we saw octopus and eels; tarpon used our dive lights to hunt, which was a pain. It was handy having the dive lockers on the dock to load gear onto the boat and for jumping into the water to shore dive. There were also two sets of stairs for entering and exiting the water.

Our dive boat was roomy, the dive guides were great, and boarding and checking Nitrox was efficient. Our boat dives were a nice mix of Klein Bonaire plus other sites, including one 100' wreck. We saw a huge school of dolphins on the way to one dive site. Underwater we saw a few turtles, a couple seahorses and frogfish, lots of cleaning stations, healthy soft corals, and one impressive loggerhead turtle. Not too many lionfish, but lots of smaller schooling fish.

This is fantastic diving for beginners, great diving for experienced divers, and good diving for us old-timers that have been everywhere.

Check into turtle hatching opportunities if you have a rental car.

My only complaint the entire week was that our hot water disappeared towards the end of the week and telling the front desk didn't seem to have any effect.
