Comments Diving from Emerald Princess. Easy transfer from cruise pier to shop by boat. Boat was crowded with little room to move, especially to sit in the sun during the surface interval. A couple of inches of water remained in the bottom of the boat while moored but drained out when under way. Mandatory fee of $10 (cash) for marine park and lecture about park rules. Also mandatory bouyancy check prior to diving. The wall was close on the first dive and just a short swim from the sand where the bouyancy checks were conducted. Vertical wall with prolific coral and sponges. Good briefings by staff and they kept a watchful eye on the group while diving. Ebo's reef on Klein Bonaire was interesting because it started in blue water and a surface swim was required to get to the wall. From the overview it appears there is excellent shore diving available all along the lee coast.

Around 2008 me and my daughter did a two-tank boat dive with yellow submarine while traveling on a 14 day Princess Caribbean cruise. The dive boat’s staff never did a roll call. During our second dive the boat took off while we were still underwater — leaving us stranded! We both sustained numerous coral scrapes and cuts when we unsuccessfully tried to stand on a submerged ledge. Fortunately a second boat from the same dive shop rescued us after about 45’. The dive shop manager profusely apologized and took down our names and email addresses — promising to email us a voucher for free diving any time in the future should we ever return. But he never sent it. Because we had booked our dives through Princess cruise line they delayed departure so that we could board the ship before it left.
