Comments We've been coming to Bonaire for over 20 years. Needless to say, there have been many changes. Bonaire diving is still good. But, if you haven't been there in a while, don't expect the lush coral and vibrant color of years ago. Any big fish there were in the past, with the exception of a few tarpon, are pretty much gone. There are still numerous tropicals and soft corals to enjoy. Captain Don's is a professional diving operation, and things run like clockwork. The resort infrastructure is beginning to need a little TLC. Case in point, the left side steps on the dock that was broken last year is still broken. Also, a set of stairs that used to go to the dive lockers was torn out last year is still roped off with rebar and wire hanging out of the ground. The rooms were kept clean and the staff was friendly. Watch out for cruise ships and don't go into town if one is in port.
