Comments White Sands dive operation. The people were delightful. We were a group of 24, and we broke ourselves up into groups of 6, using two boats. Each group had a divemaster assigned who led his group on all dives for the week. The divemasters were very relaxed, almost too relaxed with regard to how close one stayed with the group. Luckily, we were a group of mostly very experienced divers with good camaraderie, so we made up for care of our weaker and newer divers, when the divemasters were not quite as careful as they might be. This connects to one of my biggest criticisms of the dive operation. No attempt whatsoever was made to be sure that all divers were back on the boat before leaving a mooring, except for a joking call of, "Everybody here?"

Where else diving Almost all of my diving has been in the Caribbean and Florida. I've dived a half dozen times in California, and once each in North Carolina and the Mediterranean. Caribbean diving includes Dominica, Roatan, Utila, Curacao, Bonaire, Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, Saba, Cozumel, Grand Turk and Belize.
