Comments This is our third trip to Turneffe Flats and we've booked our fourth visit for May 2024. We obviously like it. Little has changed since my report last year, suggest giving it a read as I don't want to repeat myself. Improvements include better WiFi, an acoustical ceiling in the dining room and the Divemaster reducing his interaction with the marine life (see my prior report - I no longer consider this an issue). A quick summary is that this resort focuses on fishing with diving and snorkeling secondary but still well supported. It is isolated so you have no other dining options. The facilities are excellent. We thought the food was excellent. There is a cash bar but we found the charges to be reasonable. The owner is a physician so that first aid and Covid testing are readily available. Serious medical issues would require evacuation. The resort is operated with state-of-the-art water capture/recycling and solar power. The diving is easy - warm water, mostly 60-80 foot dives, good visibility and modest/no currents. The diving is about as good as it gets in this part of the Caribbean with a focus on marine conservation. There is a once weekly opportunity to dive around Lighthouse Reef (Blue Hole, Half Moon Caye). The Divemaster provides "valet" level diving with small groups. The only thing missing is night dives. My wife loves the outstanding snorkeling program, which keeps TF high on our list for return visits.

Overall rating for UWP's 4 stars Shore Facilities N/A
UW Photo Comments (same as last year)There is no shore facility dedicated to photography, but the divemaster picks up and returns photography gear to your room each morning and afternoon. There are plenty of outlets (110V) in each room for charging. I asked for an extra large towel for the camera. The divemaster maintains a separate fresh water tub on the boat for cameras in addition to the water bucket supplied for each diver's mask. There is no capability for charging batteries on the boats. The divemaster will offer advice regarding choice of lens and do their best to meet diver's requests for photographic subjects.
