Comments I've dove with Frenchies Diving before so I pretty much knew what to expect for their full-day, 3-tank dive to the Blue Hole and Lighthouse Reef. The trip requires an early star from Caye Caulker; check-in at the dive shop was at 5:30am. As it turned out it was raining hard at that time so several divers arrived late. Coffee and light breakfast was available at the dive shop and the boat departed at about 6:00 after a good safety briefing. The ride out was rough due to the weather but didn't take much longer than the usual 2 hours. On arrival at the Blue Hole I was pleasantly surprised to see that we were the only boat there, which is unusual. It was still raining heavily with limited surface e visibility. Divers were divided into two groups; AOW and OW only. The latter group was limited to 60'. There were about 8 divers in the AOW group which was accompanied by 2 DMs. The AOW group entered the water first, after a good dive briefing. Visibility near the surface was very low and wasn't a lot better as we descended. It was slightly better at the 120' level where stalactites are visible. As is often the case there were several reef sharks cruising at around 100'. Bottom time was limited to 15 minutes for the AOW group followed by a 5 minute safety stop. On surfacing we were pleased to see that the weather had cleared. The boat made its way towards Lighthouse Reef for the 2nd dive which was at Aquarium. I was pleased to see that coral health was much better than my last dive there, in 2021 at which time SCTLD had taken a heavy toll. The dive at Aquarium featured several large Nassau and Black Grouper as well as several Nurse Sharks. The 2nd dive was followed by lunch at Half Moon Caye. the fare was the traditional Belizean rice and beans, stew chicken and Cole Slaw. The surface interval at HM Caye was about 75 minutes. The 3rd dive was at Lighthouse Reef Wall, one of my favorite dive sites in Belize. Several reef sharks accompanied us for most of the dive. When we surfaced it was raining hard again and heavily overcast. The weather made for a rough ride back to Caye Caulker but everyone was in good spirits as the crew broke out a jug of rum punch and cranked up the music.
