Comments One week Feb trip during a nasty western hemisphere cold snap. Chillier that we wanted but a heck of a lot better than freezing at home!


THE DIVES SITE: Most dives are close to resort, with exception of Elbow (a very nice dive site), and the Blue Hole trip. Yo ucome back to the dock after each dive. Lots of nurse sharks swimming around us and a couple of other sharks out in the blue, including one hammerhead, tons of cleaning stations, lobsters, rays and eels. Fun toad fish, and octopi. No to light currents. No complaints there!
The usual day trip to Blue Hole, lunch on Half Moon Caye, and Aquarium and Playground in the afternoon. The latter two were wonderful.

Coral was there and okay but I can’t help but remember how things looked back when I first started diving in the 80’s, but don’t let that stop you! Water temps were maxing out around 81 with a couple of chilly thermoclines taking you down to 76. Better for the reefs I think, bu it was good to get b ... Subscribe to get the full story. Dive own profile no
Enforced diving restrictions 45 minutes - allegedly plus safety stops, but not really. Everyone required to come up together, even for mooring dives. I was often on board showing less than a 45 minutes dive.
