Comments After being delayed from departing Denver due to snowstorm, we arrived in Belize City. A staff member greeted us outside of customs and drove us 30 minutes to the boat. The crew greeted us upon arrival, and we chatted with the crew we had sailed with before. This would be our 5th time on the Belize Aggressor IV.
Before dinner, the captain and crew gave a very through boat briefing and safety procedures.
We left the dock early Sunday morning sailing to our first dive site.
After 3 1/2 days of 5 dives daily, tropical storm Sara began to approach Belize. The captain stopped diving Thursday Noon, and we headed back to the dock. The bands of rain were very fierce and caused visibility to be extremely limited. The rain continued through our departure time on Saturday. The storm hit the mainland just hours after our departure, closing the airport for 2 days. Some of our new dive buddies were stuck in Belize for a few days.
