Comments the good was several things. the owner (raynerd lightbourne) was prompt to reply to my email. i found his website doing an online search. we exchanged a few emails assuring him i was serious about diving with him. he sent his phone number in the email. when i arrived saturday afternoon, i called him to confirm that he was picking me up the following morning. he was accurate on his time arrival (745am). helped me load my dive gear and we continued picking up other divers in the area. he verified my dive card, we filled out the paperwork and went to the boat. tanks were already loaded, divemaster arrived and gave us a briefing on where we would be diving. the only thing he did NOT do was a roll call, only a head count. the divemaster was knowledgeable about the dive site. the rates were in line with what i pay here in florida area. the first two tanks were $70 usd. (i had my own gear) the next two dives (following day) was $57 usd. visa credit/check card is accepted, also cash. don't worry about money exchange in the Bahamas, they welcome USD and the exchange is "dollar for dollar".
after the dive, he was happy to return us to our hotels.
great service, good knowledge, friendly people.
another thing the divemaster did NOT do was stay on the boat. USCG rules require someone familiar with the boat operation to stay in the boat while others dive. this being Bahamas, maybe that rule does not apply in their country.
if someone is looking for a relaxing vacation/getaway, i strongly encourage grand bahama area and this dive shop. i will be returning to this country. very peaceful, relaxing, good area
