Comments For my birthday, I treated myself and family to one of my favorite dive spots. This was my sixth trip to San Sal which was documented by a piece of painted driftwood in the bar. This island has the most beautiful water in the world. The diving was spectacular as always. Every dive at San Sal is special and unique. Unreal cuts and chimneys with spectacular visibility. These dive sites will stay in your mind forever. Sharks (Hammers), turtles, large friendly groupers and lion fish were with us on every dive. The dive boats and guides were top notch. The guides left you alone to do your thing while at the same time keeping an eye out for any novice who needed help getting comfortable. The boats were perfect size, open with lots of shade. The resort was like it always has been, a diving dude ranch. The rooms were cold with satellite TV and a fridge. The food was good but nothing gourmet. The Driftwood Bar has been a favorite of divers for 20 years. The best thing I can say about Riding Rock is their friendly staff. Everyone was wonderful. I've been there six times and I am planning on returning again and again.
