Comments Club Meds are a fairly know entity. However, San Salvador has one of the most beautiful fine beaches, with turquoise water. The dive boats were very comfortable and almost only about one quarter full. Unfortunately, global warming has taken its toll, as evidenced by the number of fish, extensive bleaching and the delay of hammerhead until later in the season. The dive team was very friendly and helpful. However, we were surprised that you had to pay extra to be part of a group led by a dive master. So, we fended for ourselves. Consequently we could not find the "hole" at the "hole in the wall" site. It wasn't on the site map at all. So we had trouble knowing the distance from the boat. A leader may have helped us find it. Even the most experienced divers would benefit from divers who know an area, such as useful information about the locations of different sea life and specific coral formations. The briefing did not go beyond informing us about the general locations of the walls and some pass-throughs. Attentive diving staff underwater, for safety and information, should be basic, not a surcharge! Also, only after the last dive did we learn that, had we asked, we could have done a drift dive when there was a current. For these reasons, I feel that they fell short from providing a more enriched diving experience.
