Comments This was our 3d trip aboard the Cap Ppalu and we have to say it was the best trip ever. The weather was excellent so we were able to get all the way down to the Blue/Thunderball Grotto area. Captain Sam choose a great wide variety of great dive sites during our trip. Dave-O the cook truly loves cooking and his meals, including a turkey dinner, were all tasty and filling. DM Emma is a seasoned dive professional. She knows the dive sites well and often added interesting facts and trivia about the site or area. At the end of the trip she also produced an awesome video of the trip and diving to take back home. We were so happy to see that staff does their best to remove lion fish at each dive site while the guests are diving. I believe this has both helped the reefs and caused black-tipped reef sharks, groupers, and jacks to recognize the boat and we often found them under the boat at both the start and end of a dive. Seeing sharks during at least 60% of the dives was certainly a bonus for us and I have to add that the sharks never acted aggressive towards the divers. They also have added a shark dive that was ran in a very safe and professionally manner. All in all it was a great trip

Tip #1- the Cat Ppalu is only available for charters through Blackbeard but most trips have available spaces so give them a call and see if you can join one of the trips.

Tip #2 - of the 6 cabins only two have separate beds so you've often got to share a double size bed with your cabin mate which makes getting up in the middle of night and crawling over your parnter a bit interesting.
