Comments Blackbeards sail/motor cruises are not for divers who want luxury,to be guided underwater and taken care of. This is a boat for serious divers, who want to dive as much as possible, meet other divers and have lots of
fun. The food, while not gourmet, is tasty and abundant, you won't go hungry.
Previous reports have indicated rustic conditions and like camping. That is subjective. Having dived on the many liveaboards in California, I thought the bunks were comfortable with enough room for my luggage, though more spacious in the mid cabin and galley than in the hull. The crew was top notch and very competent.
Diving: the Bahamas lived up to their reputation as the shark capital of the Atlantic. We saw sharks every day. Mostly reef sharks. Visibility was gin clear at every dive site, even with "bumpy" surface conditions.
We saw, turtles, reef sharks, caribbean sharks, nurse sharks, rays, a variety of fish life and most of the corals seemed to be in good condition
