Comments Since I have been on these boats before I am well aware of life aboard the Morningstar. The last time we sailed from Miami and the crossing was rough. BB's now sails out of Nassau and puts you in the Exumas fairly fast. These Islands are beautiful and the diving is very good. Other than three other ships of Blackbeards nobody else seems to dive these Islands.
The reefs are in great condition and the sea Life is abundant and we had sharks on most every dive. We did come across a Sperm whale that was resting on the surface which was very cool. While there are no ports of call we did do a few island excursions which were a nice break. Iguanas and birds make up most of the population with virtually no people.
We sailed in June and the weather was very good most of the week. Like most liveaboards weather can dictate a good or bad trip. The crew was very helpful and the food while home-style was very good.
This isn't a trip for those who want luxury cabins but we did 19 dives and slept well in our dormitory style bunks.

A very good value and a good time. It isn't exactly luxurious, but the crew is friendly and knowledgeable, the briefings are thorough and clear, the food is ample, fresh, well prepared and quite varied. The diving is for the most part pristine and there is abundant marine life. Quarters are dorm room style; you get a bunk, a shelf and a hook. Privacy doesn't exist. But if you like the high seas and the outdoors you'll have a blast.
