Comments I was traveling to meet my friend and his wife in Brisbane before they left to start living in the United States. Originally I didn't have time or planned on diving during the trip. We took a day trip to Moreton Island and I saw they offered diving at the resort. The dive was focused around the Curtin Artificial Reef that started in 1968. We geared up on the shore and walked out in the surf to a large D-day style boat. A short boat ride out to the dive site with snorkelers took about 5 minutes. The only issue with this dive was visibility. I'm not sure if it was common for low visibility in that area, but It was hard to see much of the sea life. It had been raining throughout the week so my assumption is the rain had reduced the visibility. We did see a wobbegong shark in addition to the other tropical fish. The dive started about 30ft and worked up into about 5ft. There was a swim through which I enjoyed, but our guide was very quick and we didn't have much time to stop and see the wreck or its inhabitants.
