Comments used Undercurrent to check out two dive shops: Dive Aruba and JADS, and checked ArubaBob due to proximity to accommodation. Sent emails but only received replies from JADS and ArubaBob. Waited till arrival on Aruba before making a booking. Talked to ArubaBob personally, not impressed, decided to dive with JADS.
Two days double boat dives with JADS, first day two airplanes (convair 340 and YS11) and reef, second day shipwreck Jane C and reef. Would have dived third day but not enough divers (min 4required). Both days had 6 divers plus guide Susan, who it seems does everything at JADS. Boat was good, weather hot and windy, viz good, wrecks all good, corals and fish life average. Nothing big. Second reef better than first for marine life. Susan did a good dive briefing including safety, and was a good guide, pointing out hidden marine life. Snacks in between dives were good: fruit, cake, biscuits, I had my own portable espresso machine otherwise no coffee.
Coming from Australia to visit our son who lives in Colombia, Aruba is not a cheap destination, we had (for us) an expensive AirBnB , but it was a self contained cottage on the waterfront, with a nice yard, right next door to Zeeober Fish restaurant (excellent shrimps). Diving also is at least as expensive as back home.
