Comments Our liveaboard week had its ups and downs. Originally set to leave from Hurghada, the organizers switched it up last minute to Marsa Alam. Not a fan of the unexpected 3.5-hour bus ride. On the flip side, we scored two extra dive sites - Elphinstone and Salem Express - on our way up north.

Dive guides weren't exactly bursting with enthusiasm, and their briefings, both for the dives and the ship in general, were a bit lackluster. The guides was all "Yes, yes" to our suggestions, but they often did their own thing, which got on our nerves.

Nitrox was on the menu, and we went for it on all dives. The only hiccup? They ran out of oxygen two days before the trip ended. And let's talk about the mix – it was like they were winging it, which isn't exactly reassuring.

The boat was decent, but some of the toilets weren't up to snuff. On the upside, the food was great, and the Dive Safari Master staff was cool. They even hooked us up with an extra case of mangoes and helped out with some last-minute meds. Kudos for them.

Despite the bumps, we wrapped up on the standard North route feeling satisfied. The underwater spots were on point, and the crew's hospitality, though hit-and-miss, made for a decent dive trip.
